Feb 1This week’s Newsletter
Hi there & Happy New Year! Welcome to Mk1′s first newsletter post of 2010..
I’ve had a bit of time off in Jan – but I’ve been kept pretty busy - as the unveiling of Mk1′s new website will attest. We’ve got lots of plans and features to add yet but for now you can view our latest cover galleries, as well as check out each and every arrival since it’s unveiling – grab a great read from our extensive graphic novel catalogue or enter this
week’s retweet competition. You can check the site out here. A big thank you to V02 webdesign – Peter & his team have been a real treat to work with. Innovative and professional every step of the way – I really look forward to working with them in the future developing this site even further. We’d really appreciate your feedback – so let me know what you think and what you would like to see added to the site – email comments to shop@mk1.co.nz or send a tweet @mk1comics.
Another key partner I would like to acknowledge is the folks at Comixology – they have some very cool new comic shop resources (like the cover galleries and online pull list management system) find out more about that here. Comixology’s applications have certainly made bringing our Victoria Street site to the web easier and far more visually exciting than it would be possible without them.
Lastly to the brothers McGill who enabled MK1’s first virtual steps into the big wide web world. Cheers Scott for all those hours (and hours and hours) of website building, patient html explanations, beautiful digital stylings (his super power is uncanny colour co-ordination) – you really made our first steps far more good looking and professional than they had any right to be. Greig gave us the oppotunity and platform to try things out and see what kind of audience was out there – thanks Greig! While I’m very pleased to finaly be able to offer the full e-commerce experience – I’m gonna miss the old orange and grey site (as I have the two versions that preceeded it!)
So that leaves a bit of a gap between my last newsletter (late Dec 09) and the new site’s launch. I dutifully (or habitually – you choose..) Tweeted every arrival so if you want to see what you nearly missed out on browse through Mk1′s twitter records here… 2010′s off to a great start new release wise – you really don’t want to miss out on some of the great swag on shelf now.
