Clear & Present Danger!

I’m admitting a new found respect for people who write clear and easy to understand instructions… be it kitset directions, boardgame rule books or wikihow guides.  A clear, concise, informative and instructional piece of writing seems to be as much an artform as a craft.  My own failings in explaining the “Mk1 Comixology” system is the reason behind my new found appreciation for this art. Like a trooper – I’m willing to give it another try and I’m open to suggestions and examples of how to clearly explain the “Comixology” system.

The Comixology system allows easy interaction with our cover gallerys.  When logged in you can click on a cover – choosing to order that issue only or subscribe to the rest of the series.  If you link your Comixology account with Mk1 I will be sent a daily summary of the additions, deletions and subscriptions you make.  Simply put Comixology allows you to directly interact with the order form I use to unpack each week’s shipment… but wait there’s more!  You will get a weekly email summary of any titles you have selected that are hitting the comic shelf that week.. you also get access to a monthly online version of Previews the Comic Shop Catalogue!   There’s lots of extras on offer in the Comixology site – from free online comics to heated comic debate in the forums.  Comixology are a world wide leader in the implementation of digital comic reading – and I’m glad they have chosen to partner and work alongside traditional comic shops.

One last caveat:  Just in case someone reading this feels this whole diatribe is aimed at them – it really isn’t.  Every week I find myself explaining the benefits of the comixology system.  Seems that showing how the system works is far easier than explaining it in text form… next time you are in the shop – ask for a demo!  Here’s our sign up page.
