Make sure you visit Mk1 next week to grab your free “DC the New 52 #1″ Preview Book! : It’s your central starting point for all 52 titles of the New DC Universe! Get Mk1′s take on it below.

I like giving the shop a good spring clean.  Not only is it a chance to change, restore, refresh and present Mk1 in a nice, clean, bright new light but also a chance to discard and remove what isn’t working – lessening the inevitable clutter that builds up in any enterprise of longevity (that reminds me Mk1′s sale table is up for the School holidays!).  I’ve just finished the DC section of the Previews catalogue and have had a good read through the new “52″ title summarys.   Seems DC likes to clean house too.  There are some exciting new titles and artist combinations coming up – and I’m sure there will be a few hidden treasures in the list as well. Anybody that spends any time in the comic web press and various forums will know there has been a lot of discussion about DC’s new direction – the world hardly needs my two cents added. I’ll just say my own opinion mirrors that offered by many Mk1 customers: I’m excited and looking forward to see how it all pans out.  Of course there are practical considerations around the new numbering like adjustments to prepaid subscriptions (I’ll be handling this like I always do – offering a refund or  a transfer to another title).  Most titles have a logical successor –  while I have already rolled over standing requests to that title’s new counterpart – it would certainly be of help if subscribers review the list below and let me know what they are keen on.  Anybody can request a pull list/standing order review at any time – it’s a simple report that can be easily emailed.

In the meantime – the “old” DC is going out with a bang : Flashpoint has been heaps of fun – still plenty more twists to come I’m sure.  I’ve been able to restock all chapters and tie ins of this excellent series – it’s not to late to jump on board.  DC’s Retroactive titles start to ship next week – great reading for anybody that has a little DC nostalgia welling up – also a nice reminder that “change” is not a new concept – DC ‘s past history is full of new directions and different takes on their classic characters.   There really is no reason for anybody to think the future will be any less exciting.
