September Highlights have been chosen!
My pick of the indie publishers is the new STUFF of LEGEND mini series and new Chris Ware Hardcover. An unearthed 1980s Alan Moore script makes it’s way to publication thanks to Avatar (a collaboration between Moore and Malcolm “Sex Pistols” McLaren called Fashion Beast). Manga wise a new Yotsuba volume has attracted the early preorders. As reported the big two releases from the big two publishers: DC’s Zero Month (celebrating one year of the bold new 52 initiative) and Marvel’s Avengers Vs X-men finale (setting up the similarly bold MARVEL NOW initiative!) IDW collects the Star Trek Doctor Who crossover - and cleverly gives us two new starting points for both series. From Image there’s a new Walking Dead hard cover - don’t miss the Thief of Thieves first collection either. Vertigo offers the Girl with The Dragon Tattoo Hardcover and a brand new stand alone Fables graphic novel - and don’t forget to check my Not Comics picks for a Fables t-shirt! There are a host of great art books on offer this month and a new Walking Dead prose novel.
