November Review
No surprise as to who is in the top spot - SCOTT PILGRIM continues to reign supreme at Mk1 in 2010. DCs Blackest Night Hardcovers and the Serenity Shepherd’s Tale battle it out for the 2nd spot.. Blackest Night takes it (albeit helped along by 6 different Blackest Night titles against Serenity’s 3 volumes)! Grant Morrison’s Batman RIP and Robert Kirkman’s Invincible make up the top 5 – the Walking Dead series comes next (a surprise to me – I love the Invincible series but with the buzz on the Walking Dead TV I was sure the volumes would track higher). Avatar the Last Airbender Art book, Mega Tokyo volumes , the Amulet series and Garth Ennis’s The Boys round off the top 5 graphic novel series at Mk1 for the year so far.
Looking further down the list there are a few recent releases that will be looking to push into top seller status – JMS’ SUPERMAN EARTH ONE Hard Cover, the STAR WARS FORCE UNLEASHED VOLUME 02, another Grant Morrison masterpiece ALL STAR SUPERMAN, Kevin Smith’s little bit naughty BATMAN CACOPHONY tale (the follow up Batman Widening Gyre volume 01 arrives this weekend!) the latest Buffy The Vampire Slayer SEASON 8 VOLume (TWILIGHT) - more Morrison with FINAL CRISIS and a game tie in: MODERN WARFARE 2 GHOST, Mk1 staff favourite HELLBOY VOLUME 11 MASKS AND MONSTERS is doing well and don’t miss out on Brian Azarello’s LUTHOR Hard Cover. Great reads all - in fact you can take the above list as a great sampling of excellent Christmas present suggestions.
