Our Big Day in May!
What a day! It was our best Free Comic Book Day yet – 2000 comics given away in under 3 hours… Mk1 has never completely run out of free comic books before let alone in so short a space of time! We owe a big thanks to everyone who attended and helped spread the word! A special thanks to Nick Silvester, Jeff Neems, Art Robinson & the Nexus team, Dylan Horrocks, Grant Woolston, Ree Vercoe and her Hamilton Central promotion peeps! Free Comic Book Day is held on the first Saturday every May. What better way to celebrate Mark One’s birthday? On May 7th 2011 from 9am to 5pm we gave away over 2000 comics, with more than 1500 people through the doors! Free Comic Book Day is all about promoting reading – it’s a great way to kick start that all important reading habit in the young as well as a means of reconnecting with the simple joy of reading a fun story.
Free Comic Book Day is the best day to check Mark One out for the first time, and a fantastic way for Mark One to say thanks to all the people that have kept us in business these past 22 years!

There really is something for everyone on that list – keep in mind we always have a few surprises as well..
